A town hall Friday with more than 1,000 medical professionals was held to generate support for COVID-19 immunization program.

“With the expected arrival of vaccines this quarter, we want our medical professionals to be fully equipped, not just on its administration, but also in advocating the vaccination program and in countering misinformation and disinformation surrounding vaccines,” Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III  said.

Dr. Benito Atienza, President of the Philippine Medical Association, expressed gratitude towards the government for prioritizing the healthcare workers in the initial batches of the COVID-19 vaccine. “This will enable medical professionals to fully and without fear participate in the program and attend to patients requiring medical attention,” Dr. Atienza said.

“Vaccines work. Vaccines are highly effective in preventing infections from bacteria or viruses or in keeping one from acquiring the severe form of a particular disease. The government is doing everything to ensure that the vaccines we will provide to every Filipino are safe and efficacious. We also ensure that the vaccines will be administered in an ethical way,” Sec. Duque added.

The mutations might also cause the variant to spread easily —  even among vaccinated people .  The World Health Organization has labeled Omicron a " variant of concern ," a distinction given to the most threatening coronavirus variants. Delta, the v...

They're already in use in Israel, and in development in parts of Europe. But Abbott shut that down as an option in the Lone Star State with Executive Order No. GA - 35 also prohibiting "organizations receiving public funds from requiring consumers to provide documentation of vaccine status in order to receive any service or enter any place....
